Pixie thanks you for the good wishes, Doug.

The binoc night was kind of a breakthrough for me. I now "get it." I couldn't possibly have had more fun with Sugaree than I did hunting for the faint fuzzies with the binocs -- and in recliner comfort, too! I enjoyed the thrill of the successful hunt, coupled with the unique perspective of the wide-view aesthetics. I'd do that any time.

Saturday night SweetAnne & I went to a concert at the Little Creek Casino (near
Shelton) and heard Los Lonely Boys & Los Lobos. It was superb in all respects and it included a truly thrilling surprise.

One of the mikes picked up some on-stage, between-numbers banter, and I heard someone say, "Send up Lee Oskar." And about a minute later, they introduced him. He's the guy whose name is on all my harmonicas, a genuine world-class harp player. He ended up sitting in with Los Lobos for close to 1 1/2 hour. Wow!

Tom, I hope you meant "from" and not "for". :roflmao:
Unless you have recently broken both of your arms...

Just a little higher, Kerry! Ahhhh! That's it! :roflmao:

Pixie has been going to work with me again this week. Anne & I are just thrilled with her recovery. No lie, now that she's past the surgical recovery she acts about two years younger. :applause:

I'm going out in a few to see if I can spot the nova in Delphinus.

Later: No go on nova. A haze came in, illuminated by full moon. But a pleasant 45 min., none the less.

I saw a Nova in Woodinville once.

Yeah! And I saw a Vega in Tacoma!

Well, if anyone wants to continue this car-spotting thread, still available are: Pulsar, Titan, Aerostar, Aries, Astro, del Sol, Eclipse, Taurus, Electra, Equinox, Mercury, Saturn, Pulsar and Starion (contraction of Star of Orion). You have to pick your own city as I am notgoing to list them all! :jump:

Thanks for the help, Jackie. You just saved me a lot of tough investigative work!

Mike, I only named some of the obvious ones. There's still lots of room for you to conduct "a lot of tough investigative work!" For example, I missed the Jowett Jupiter produced from 1949-1954 and maybe you could report seeing one in a vintage car parade in Port Townsend!

[And every time you look at the Suburu logo, you are looking at the Pleides, which they call Suburu in Japan]

We used to have our own Comet. I think we actually had two. One we rode around in, the other one we used to vacuum the floors with. Of course we had a small can of them under the sink to clean all manner of stuff. :foreheadslap:

I think this thread should go through a "wring & rinse" cycle, then repeat. :p

I am just tuning in to this thread after a while. Glad to hear about Pixie. She is such a dear.

Three weeks ago we thought we would lose our dog Cajun, the German Shepherd and Husky mix some of you might have seen last year at Pixieland. Went off food for days. Had to be hand fed and watered for a week. Turned out to be an infected salivary gland. Back to normal now.

Happy ending, Ajay! I'm glad your pooch is healthy again.

Hi, Seawolfe. Where do you view at St. Helens?

Cliff, I may just take you up on that. I had been planning (for months) to go backpacking this weekend but I hurt a knee. Would you please be sure to let us know if you are definitely going? It would make a difference in whether or not I load my ramps & wheelbarrow handles, to know someone would be able to help lift the mirror box out of the truck.

Hi, Seawolfe. Where do you view at St. Helens?

Haven't yet...been too cloudy or I've been On Call where I work...week after week after week. :(

BUT....It's looking like really good weather for Friday and Saturday. I'm thinking Windy Ridge as it's in the black zone whereas the other side of Spirit Lake is in a blue zone. Blue Zone is great, but I'm hoping that BLACK is better!

If the NPS kicks us out, there's a couple of forest roads nearby that are near a clearcut area.

This thread has gotten a little long to navigate, so it is now locked; and let's switch over to the spanking new Pt. 7 thread here

Thanks all!
