Does anyone know of some place or somebody who supplies short extension shafts for the CGE PRO's counterweight shaft?

I am not aware of anyone that sells them. You may try the CGE
groups on yahoo. I ended up just adding more weight. I had 88 pounds 4x22 on mine at one point to balance my very heavy guide setup.

Not sure what size the CGE is, but I have one of these for my CGEM. http://www.scopestuff.com/ss_eqbe.htm

The CGE and CGEPro have the same size counterweight bars - 1.25". What I don't know is if the threads on the mounting point for the counterweight bars are the same (ie. can you use a cw bar from a CGE for a CGEPro ... and therefore if someone has a CGE extension does it work on the CGEPro?)

My guess would be "no." My CGEM DX has a different toe-saver thread (metric) than my Losmandy G11 (SAE). I used to have a complete G11 setup, including a CW shaft extension that threads into the toe-saver end, that's how I know. What I'm not totally certain about is whether the CGE Pro had the same threads as the CGEM DX, but my guess is that it does since they're both coming from the same Chinese source.

The original CGE uses a 3/8 x 16 threaded location for the toe saver (and that is same as the Losmandy I believe).

the pro is using a 3/8th-12 it looks like to me.. It's not as fine as the altitude lock knobs which look to be 3/8th-10

I said screw it and retapped the end to 3/8th-16. Now I can put an ADM counterweight bar on the end. The screw on type weights from ADM allows the weights to lock on the end.. The weights also serve as a stopper!!

All I needed was an extra 5lbs. This worked out great and with the different sizes of ADM bars, I can customize the length.

The CGE mounts were all SAE. The CGE Pro mounts are metric. The toe saver on the CGE Pro (and CGEM DX) are M12-1.75 threads. The threads into the mount are also different (SAE vs. metric).
