Giant and complex group of spots on the Sun was sketched June, 14 (16:30 UTC) using 130 mm 1:7 ED-triplet + Astrosolar film + 11 mm Nagler. White paper + pencil. Then light processing in Paint.NET: color, levels, orientation.

The spot was seen even by unaided eye (through filter).

Stunning drawing of this interesting group Ernest! I especially like how you have caught the penumbral and umbral detail in AA11504, especially the photospheric bridge. Lovely work!

Ernest,

outstanding work! I first thought it was a photo. Was it a bird you sketched at the upper left?

Beautiful! I spotted these last evening with my little solar projector. Quite the complex, must be one of the best in the last couple months.

Your sketch captures them very well... Feels like I'm peering into my telescope... Except my seeing is never that good in daytime!

Ernest,

Very fine closeup of the mega-sunspot group.

There were a lot of swifts passing over Sun image while I worked out the sketch and shadow one of them was inscribed.
