Today is my 4th day of holiday and this is my 4th sketch! I hope the beginning of a fruitful sketch-summer :jump:

your technique?

I used grey pastel pencils (Conté 1355 n° 20 and 42) for the penumbrae and Pierre Noire (Conté 1710 HB) for the umbra. In fact it are the same pencils I use for moonsketching.

Very detailed sketch, you should have lots of opportunity to sketch sunspots in the next year or so.

Jef,

Excellent drawing of this active region in white light. This AR flared and sent a CME in our direction on July 2nd so it is one to watch. :)
