Anyway, I expect the registration fee will be $75 as it was in '11. No change in the camping fees is anticipated.
You CAN register at the site, but there is usually a discount for pre-registering, which is the $50 fee you saw. However, prices for '12 haven't yet been firmed up; I'm guessing there will be no change from '11.
Weather at the site is unpredictable. Highs could be in the 90°s, lows in the 40°s. It's usual to have a cloudy night or two, with rain.
If you are bringing an RV, it's recommended to arrive early to get a better choice of sites. The same if you're tent camping.
Ice is for sale on the field, and meals and drinks are also available.

Rusty, thank you for the information. Do you know when the new form will be completed so that I can pre-register? Also, if I register for 3 days but decide to stay an extra one can I pay for the extra one at the site? I look forward to seeing you and everybody else up there.
I haven't talked to Peter Macumber about that yet, but in the past, it has appeared about 6-8 weeks before the start. Yes, you can pay "at the door" for an extra day.
Be great to see you again, Unk!
Washington is closest - about 15 miles up Lundberg Road (which is a continuation north of Double Wells Rd.) Thomson is about 25 miles away. Thomson is closer than that as the crow flies, but the crow doesn't have to double back to Sharon to avoid one-lane unpaved roads.
There are only a couple of motels in Washington, but several B&Bs (most are somewhat pricey), here. There are many more in or near Thomson.
Washington has a variety of local and chain restaurants.
Both supermarkets (Bi-Lo and Ingles) have small delis.
For repairs, Fareway Building Supply (in Washington), is an old, established store. Washington Hardware is right off Lundberg Road, but accepts only cash. There is a Fastenal, a Tractor Supply, and big Ace Hardware in Thomson.

I've been there a few times and almost bought a lot in the village. My good observing buddy did buy one, but it's too far away for me to use more than once a year so I passed. It's a real nice observing spot with dark skies.

I'm reluctant to say the extended forecast looks promising. If I go I can only stay till Thursday. I'm not making the 900 mile one way drive unless the forecast is good.
I'll be in a Blue Jeep Cherokee, Michigan plates, pulling my new to me teardrop on it's maiden voyage.
BTW the Ohio State decals are no longer on it. I made it's previous owner remove them before I could possibly bring it across the state line.

Hope the skies are clear for you!
I will probably see many of you at Chiefland.
