Can you ship to Israel? Paypal says I can't use that as a shipping address.

I think I might get one too. The price makes it hard to resist.

Could you tell us how many of these were printed in total? All in English?

That's quite a discount! If I didn't already have one I'd be all over this. I already notified my observing buddy Dinsdale, who doesn't hang out on CN.

OK, everyone who moans about missing out on the Millennium Star Atlas, the Herald-Bobroff Astroatlas, the Rukl Moon Altas, etc. - this is your chance to score while the scoring is good. Don't wait until it's $2000 on the used market.

Piotr,
The atlas is a superb work. I hope you've made a profit on it, and that maybe you're planning a digital version for those poor, misguided souls that don't care for printed atlases.

This atlas is going to be a collection piece.

Rick, that's exactly why I jumped on this when I read it. I was at work, but our computers at work wouldn't let me access the section of the web page to purchase the charts. I was sure they were going to be gone before I got off work, so I borrowed a co-workers smart phone to make the purchase. I've never made so many fat-fingered mistakes in my life. I don't see how people use those things! :tonofbricks: I wonder if Agena is selling them for the same price?

Awesome deal. Now I'm in trouble since I also just spent $200 at Astronomics new store. Very cool place! Can't wait to see the atlas.

Hey you guys - at least leave a pointer in the Stellar Media forum pointing here! This forum doesn't get as much traffic, and that was a good place for it!

ATT will soon publish a review of this remarkable Atlas, and it is a steal at this price!

I had no problem placing a US order @ $99.
On a different note, I find it interesting that the site says, "...the edition will not be reissued!" I wonder if eventually a new edition will be issued, perhaps with the galaxies indicated differently. It would be helpful to see galaxy symbols as something more indicative of the type of galaxy, spiral, face-on, edge-on, etc. I wonder.

My hunch is, Piotr figures he's maxed out the printed atlas market, and it wouldn't pay to do another run (and he's probably right). I expect a digital version soon. Maybe updated with some dark nebulae, a catalog, and a built in search engine? That would be a good companion to the atlas, as well as a good stand-alone product. It'd be hard to resist ordering one. And he could burn copies for almost nothing!

I ordered Monday, the Atlas got delivered today (Thursday). I like it :).
The plotting and labeling quality is very good, the image scale is perfect for the amount of information that is presented.
The individual, removable maps in a strong binder are much better for use at the telescope than a "book" atlas!
At the discounted price it's incredible value for money - having seen it now, I wouldn't hesitate ordering it at the full price.

Just curious but has anyone in North America received their atlas yet?

I'm wondering just how long delivery is going to take.

Not yet. I figure another 3-4 weeks for me based on the 2 month estimate.

Since I didn't see this thread when it first started, I was afraid that the Atlas would be sold out, but my order went through OK (whew). I have other atlases, but I figured I would be kicking myself later if I didn't get this while it was still available (and at this price).

Clear skies,
Mike

You won't regret it Mike. I'm still kicking myself for not ordering the Millenium Star Atlas when it was in print. I kept telling myself, "oh, I'll get around to it. It isn't going anywhere".
