I share with you a sketch of M17 performed in the mountains in a wonderful night of July 27, 2012.

Limiting magnitude higher than the 6
Meade 12" LB
Ocular Explore Scientific 8.8 mm, UHC-S and O-III filters

Great sketch you caught a lot of the celestial lake the Swan floats on.

I loved Campo Felice, was there about 10 years ago. Beats most of the north for decent locations, except maybe Bolzano.

Wonderful capture of M-17, it really does look like a swan under the right conditions with the correct telescope and filter.
