I need to do an overhaul on my dad's G11. It has been unused for 10 years. It worked just fine the first two nights but then the RA motor ticked and stopped driving all at once. I could use break down diagrams, and lubricant suggestions.
My dad (passed) did change the motors and covers from the 2000 stock to a 2002 upgrade. No idea what I am getting into.
I have been told that it is all really easy once you get the thing apart. but that is deep for me. I can fix modern TVs, and solder boards. Gears and worms are things I have never had to work with.
Thank you for any PDFs, or help. Adam

Adam,
I sorry for your loss. Congrats on your mount. After being stored for 10 yrs you probably will need to clean & relube the RA/Dec axis. It isn't hard but, can be messy. Before you start you need to get a set of allen wrenches that includes a .5mm. To clean you'll a degreaser like simple green. To relube I (& many others) use Superlube. You can get this at most autoparts stores. Detailed instructions can be found at the Losmandy Yahoo Group. HTH

Thanks, Both!
About 2 hours in to the break down. Taking reference photos of everything. It is easier than expected. I fount on random old cache page that there is little that I can truly mess up. Lube comes Tuesday after spending an hour calling around.
Hope to have it up and testing on Wednesday.
