Hi Folks,

I got some good seeing this morning for a look at Jupiter. The seeing allowed me to see a good bit of detail which I tried to put into the eyepiece sketch. Sketch and report are here.

I worked with a 2B pencil on standard copy paper and flipped the sketch digitally after scanning to put preceding to the left.

Michael,

Very fine capture and report on your Jupiter observation.
You do very well with that graphite pencil and copy paper.

Frank :)

I like your report and your detailed sketch, Michael! Indeed seeing Io poping out from behind Jupiter would have been something fun to watch and sketch. It is always a great pleasure to look at the danse of the moons around the King.

Thanks for posting!

Jean

Thanks everyone! Yes, that copy paper does all right.

Jean, the moon dance is one of the sublime pleasures of Jupiter observing. :) I remember observing Jupiter once when one of the moons was behind the Jovian disk. I was concentrating hard on looking at details and putting them on paper. I took my eye away from the ep for a moment to add a detail to the sketch and when I looked back--boom! Another moon was there.
