It was over a week ago when I had one of those relaxing evenings that was clear and the Trifid was as high as it was going to get. Tonight, after a day of mistakes, I recalled the observation in a unique way, which led to this story and sketch if you care to follow the link. Thanks all. It was a wonderful evening. So nice to use a C8 at F/2 on an object like this. It puts it into perspective.
