Anyway, I observed Jupiter this morning and got quite a nice view. I decided to attempt to sketch it. I've never tried before, so any help and advice would be appreciated. :)

I also noticed that over a period of a few minutes, a small bump suddenly appeared on the upper left side of the disk (almost looked like a wart). I guess this was one of the moons coming into view.

Jz,

These sketches look very good. I'd say your seeing was pretty good too.

Frank :)

Very nice, jz!

If there is one advice that I can give : keep on sketching. It will sharpen your vision even more.

I intend to, when I have the time. I'm sure trying to sketch DSOs will be especially tricky...

DSO sketching tricky?

Not necessarily, you should give it a try. But also try other subjects (moon, planets, sun, comets) and see what discipline gives you the most satisfaction.
