One more crack at it with a different .avi. No barlow.

I tried different processing and tweaked the color as well.

No barlow, just extension tube. Then re-sized in Registax.
I know what you're thinking...Is he going to post every cotton pickin picture he's ever taken? I'm a bit obsessive right now, what can I say...

Terry, Keep posting the pictures! It has been lovely to see the continued improvement in your images. I have yet to use my Q for imaging but seeing your trials and the end results has been quite inspiring. Keep up the good work.

Are still still shooting out of your window? The results are great!

These last couple of shots were taken outside. For a change. I still think I can do better once I get the image stable enough to use a barlow. Right now I have to blow the image up. Like this one. Les, Ian, thanks for the encouragement and compliments! I'll keep at it.

Here's one from tonight...32 degrees...sitting in a parking lot...didn't come out that good.

However the view through the eyepiece was nice and crisp. Very good actually.

This is just one I took out open window from 12th floor. Don't mind me, just messing around trying to get the hang of it.

I just bought a house in the mountains. Seeing is going to be soooo MUCH better when I get there in about a month and a half!

Terry, with a house like that what you need is a Q7

I hear you! If I could find a used one I'd really think about it. A new one would cost me over $20,000. That's pushing it. I'd love to have one though. I did pick up an Edge HD 9.25, but haven't had the chance to use it yet. Now that I have this house, I'm getting the itch to go big, like a C14. Honestly, I think the 9.25 will do great out there, plus it's a bit easier to use. The Questar will always be my favorite though. I haven't regretted that decision at all!

Terry, the views from that deck during the day alone would have sold me the house. I think when you get imaging with the Q3.5 from up there you will see an improvement over your already high standard of achievement.

Spurred on by your success I have just finished putting a set of adaptors together so I can attach my Canon DSLR to the axial port. All I need now are clear skies. Oh what I would give for crisp mountain air!

Nice place you have there.
Your photos make me wish I was back home on Californias central coast; with the Questar of course.

Thanks! I was very fortunate to find it. And yes, California is VERY nice! If I could live anywhere out there it would be just outside Petaluma in those rolling hills. Peaceful and still close to the ocean.

Ian, I've been using a Basler acA640-100gc camera. Fits in palm of your hand and does a really excellent job. Kind of pricey ($650), but is extremely light weight. I'd also like to try my Sony Nex N-5N. I just need to get the correct adapter. Good luck with taking pictures! Post them when you get a chance.

This house is in the very northern part of West Virginia, just about at the Maryland and Pennsylvania borders. I don't know much about the area, except that it's beautiful and not very populated. It will be a change, but a welcome one!

These are my first attempts at piggybacking my Sony Nex 5N on my Questar. These are 30 second exposures of the Milky Way from my deck in WV. Quite grainy, but I still kind of like them. 4 pics to follow
