These were also downsized. It looks like the posted versions are a little darker as well.

Or at least it looks that way on the iPad.

last one. Again, these were downsized, which probably didn't hurt because they were starting to get grainy and fuzzy.

Nice. :)

The last three photos remind me of naked eye views from Horseshoe Meadows, near Mt.Whitney California.

Absolutely awesome on a new moon. We use to fish for golden browns in the meadow streams. It takes awhile to acclimate, as your up around the 10,000 foot mark. When the headaches come, it's time to load up and drop down to a lower elevation.

Here are a few more from tonight. Now I'll give it a rest. These weren't piggybacked. I just propped the camera on the deck at various angles and opened the shutter, then processed to bring out the details. The ISO was very high, hence the graininess. 10,000 feet must've been amazing! Never been that high. I'm only at 2000 feet, but it's a pretty dark site.

Terry: nice work. What is that black mount you have there? Is it a questar accessory?

Neil,

That is actually the equatorial head for the Tri-Stand. I simply took it of and used in a table top fashion that day. The Tri-Stand is a real work of art and super sturdy. V/R. Terry

Thanks Keith! I'm thinking about getting up early and giving Jupiter a shot.
