I just exchanged PM's with David.

I may come down to Tucson for the expo and would be willing to meet up for dinner. Elbee might come also.

I'm a picky eater, so a set menu is out for me, but I do like some Chinese and Pizza.

Chinese pizza...now that's what I'm talkin' about! :grin:

I think a bit early is good for everyone since quite a few have travelled.

Rich (and etal)....

As I mentioned to you in other messages, I will be down there for the 4 nights, so will probably try and join the group, if space is still available.

Add 1. Unless something derails me between now and then, I intend to attend.

Here's who I think is in the group- an assembly of 12. Please check and pipe up if you actually want in/out:

Me- Starhawk
David Pavlich
SteveCoe
dmdouglas
Edward E
frankcf5
desertstars
SL63 AMG
WaterMaster
Rboe
Skylook 123
hminsulators

Notes- everyone is getting individual orders. Please indicate if you have a significant other to add to the tally so this is set up correctly. I'll need to talk to the restaurant and make sure they are prepared. I really am only interested in firm commits for 6PM, Saturday. If you're thinking it's harmless to pencil in a "Maybe" for dinner just so it's an option, you're going to leave those who do show sitting there looking at half the table empty, wondering if you will appear. If you are in that category, please take your name off of my list: you will be welcome at dinner and we'll surely be able add you in ad-hoc and it will be happy to have one more.

So, it looks like the Lotus Garden for Saturday evening, then?

15 for The Lotus Garden on Saturday, November 16.

The restaurant is at:

5975 East Speedway Blvd.
Tucson, AZ 85710

Speedway is the only east-west street in Tucson. It is north of the convention center. Either Stone or Granada (which turns into Man) will take you there. Go east on Speedway until you pass the light at Craycroft. It will be about half way to the next street light on the left. The nearest cross street is Sonoita just to the east of the restaurant.

It's pretty easy to find. If you get to Wilmot, make a U turn and it will be easy to see.

I'll call today and post back when I have news.

Ok, we have a reservation for 15 at 6:00 PM at The Lotus Garden under "Rich" or "ASAE." The owner requested 24 hours' warning if we are going to be significantly different- they have to arrange for sufficient staff to be on hand.

Ditto! Great meeting you and your better half. :bow: I think we could have talked much longer if we hadn't killed our selves walking around the hall all day.

What happened to David? We waiting and waited for him and he up and disappeared.

Ron, et al;

When I saw you at ASAE I did not realize that this group dinner was not the one that I was going to attend with the folks who drove me down to Tucson--Tom and Jenn Polakis. I apologize if I messed up plans. I did not realize it until we arrived at a Mexican restaurant and I thought "that isn't the one Ron talked about".

Sorry about that;

A bunch of us did not realize there were two sites for meals. Oh well, next year! From what Alen told us your group had a real fun time and we enjoyed our company and meal so it was all good. Glad I got to see you in any event!
