Not just for the upcoming eclipse, but just so I can catch transits here and there as well

It will be mated up to a cheap 70mm SkyWatcher refractor.

What about this one? Seems to be cheap enough.

Solar film is fragile, but does well for its cost. Be very careful to not allow tears or pinpricks to form. Even one tiny pinhole and the filter should be scrapped.
