Hi guys,

Is there such a graph that can depict the appearance of the sky for a specific hour on a given date (besides a planisphere)? I seem to remember a kind of sinusoidal chart that depicted what would be above and below the horizon during a 24 hour period. What are those called and where would I find them?

Any advice would be appreciated.

A chart which I interpret to at least somewhat meet your needs is (or at least has been) included in the January issue of Sky and Telescope magazine.

I got the David Levy Planishphere. Sounds like what you are thinking?

It is nice size (read bigger than most) and works very good.

If you have a computer, consider downloading Sky Safari, a very inexpensive and beautiful program that shows the sky at any time, any day, from anywhere on earth.
