A bit of news from Celestron at ASAE:

Per Celestron Director of Product Development Eric J. Kopit, expect an announcement concerning the C8 Edge reducer this coming January - and expect them to be shipping in March 2013.

I asked point-blank why they didn't start with the C8 - arguably the best-selling of the line; Kopit stated that the development team started with the 14 under the (erroneous) assumption that they could simply scale the design down for the other Edges. That, obviously, did not work.

Per Kopit, the reducer for the 9.25 is still a year off.

That's all I've got.

Thanks for sharing. At least there is some light at the end of the tunnel :)

I hope the C8 reducer comes with a much lower price...I mean, considering the price of C8, $6-700 will really hurt...

I know it's early in January but has any more news come out on the Celestron Edge 8 reducer? I badly want to pull the trigger on the Optec Lepus reducer for my Edge 8 but I keep waiting to see if Celestron will make a move in the reducer game...John

Celestron tend to launch/announce things at CES, that's the 8th.
