Thanks all, for your comments! I guess I'll leave things as is for now. The motions are smooth on both axis with the alt action being a bit heavy. Perhaps I can tweak that by moving the teflon pads in a bit closer.

Thanks!

I've decided to change the color of the rocker box to black while leaving the ground board white for now. I think I like the black base better than all white.

I really like the contrast of the black base off the white scope. What did you use to make those notches in the dowels that the tube fits in?

Thank you. I clamped the dowel down and used a router on a DIY circle jig to carve out the arc.

I forgot to mention that the ABS plastic I used for the altitude bearings work incredibly well. I salvaged this material from an old, used SCT dew shield which I had no use for. Rather than paying the high price for a couple of strips of Ebony Star I decided to go this route and am glad I did.

I like the black too but I gotta say I loved the white.

Looks great. I preferred the white also, but I would leave the inside of the 6 holes in the rocker black.

That looks awesome. I'm thinking of putting my 8 on hold and doing something like that for my 12 because I'm about over hauling that press board base to the dark sky sight.
