Nice!

Moral of the story: Never throw anything away that might be useful for making a telescope thingy. (This includes pretty much everything).

Great Gizmo in a concise little package. Cool sort of funky-tech design.
(Also, what Mirzam said about never throwing anything useful away... I need more shipping containers!)

Or as the late Peter Manly once said "anything that isn't nailed down or on fire is fair game for telescope parts"

Thanks! One of the longer pill bottles would work I suppose. Would be neat to keep the prescription sticker on it (provided its not an embarrassing medication!) :)

"The Cialis Illuminator"...NOT! :)

Every time I throw out something that I've been 'saving' for eons, that guarantees I will have a need for it the following week.

Happens over and over. (I know, I should stop throwing thing out).

Air fitting end.

I've oft wondered what thread was used on these things. I'm assuming by "Air fitting end" you are using a fitting used to connect air hoses or such? Or is it a Schrader value?

If so, Schraders come in two threads: metric are 7.7 mm OD, thread root diameter is 6.9 mm × 0.794 mm pitch and imperial: 0.305 in OD, thread root diameter 0.271 in × 32 tpi (which really appear to be the same thread).

HMMMMM...I wonder if you have to call your doctor if you observe for more than 4 hours? :o

Cymbal crash!

Its a very small 12v battery and the current draw is tiny. We'll see how long it lasts. As for the thread...havent measured it yet, but no prob. Im modding a 25mm Kellner (or erfle) to take the illuminator and an etched glass reticle; Ill just drill a hole and tap it to suit.

Nice.

FWIW, I just have a piece of Scotch magic tape over the illuminator hole in my finder and direct my red flashlight into it to varying degrees to control brightness, and/or waggle it to blink for seeing dim objects.
