What if we just set up an ASAE CN Cabal? We could secretly meet and plan things...things the wider world will only become aware of when it's too late!

So, 23-24Nov would probably not be a good scheduling idea.

Ummm, right.

At the moment it's been cloudy much of November and I'm trying to remember if this is typical this time of year. My impression is it often is. I'm wondering about the probability of good skies- it seems to drop as the month goes on.

So, early November would appear to be more ideal.

I have seen Kartchner Caverns and really enjoyed them. Someone mentioned sidewalk astronomy in the parking lot there? Great Arizona treasure!

In a way, I feel like the dates will take some pressure off the event. I'm not sure what to do about observing, though. Two weeks is pretty long to ask people to hang out for the conference and to see a new moon.

+1 on Kartchner It's my favorite place in AZ after the big ditch! And it's close to Tucson.

+2 on Kartchner Caverns. It's on my destination list when I am in the Tucson area (I have been there once before).

Contact local schools and offer exhibits that show off projects pertaining to science and technology or specifically Astronomy. Get a 3 member panel of judges to judge the projects (grouped by grade level) and award the winners with a telescope.
