Jupiter, the Full Moon and the first magnitude star Aldebaran will form a straight line with a span of only 5° during the night of 2012 NOV 28-29. For Chicago observers this will occur shortly after moonrise. For observers in Brussels the trio will appear almost perfectly vertical.

Descriptions and photos of the alignment would be welcome additions to this thread.

Below is a link my photo of Jupiter, the Full Moon and Aldebaran in a straight line this evening. I had to overexpose the Moon to get Aldebaran to print. It was taken from Arlington Heights, Illinois on 2012 NOV 28 at 17:06 CST, which was 44 minutes after sunset and 30 minutes after moonrise.

Great to see this on here, I watched the sunset and the Moon rise on my drive home from work which on the far south side of Chicago, wide open skies out here with no obstructions.

My wife and I enjoyed this trifecta with Mk1 eyeballs.

Quite a sight!
