Ever noticed any issues with thermal expansion of the aluminium on hot summer days? Does the timber framework take up the movement/?

No - I'm in UK @ 51N so the occasional hot day is nice :lol:

My 14' diy aluminum dome actually keeps the interior of the obs cooler than the outside temperature.

Do you notice the effects of expansion in hot weather? Shutter jamming etc..?

What is that large blue feature in the upper half of the image... above the treeline... behind the obs?

that is probably A buzzard aka turkey vulture . have many of them here.
