As a noob to the world of astronomy, and the Classics Forum, I would like to say that I've found the members of this forum to be some of the friendliest, most patient, and helpful, people I've ever run across on the internet. Watching the members of this forum interact has been a joy. It's clear that strong friendships have formed and people are having a good time while they "compete" for the same scopes. It's enough to warm a cold, frosty, heart!

I would like to thank all the members of this forum, for allowing me to watch! Have a great Thanksgiving everybody!

Be good to your neighbor... and he may turn off his lights.

The same wishes to all. Amd let's hope we can all put our differences behind us and count our blessings on what we have. We all are blessed in being so lucky to be able to enjoy a hobby like this. Let's make sure we can give where we can to those who are not so lucky,

God bless eveyone.

Happy Thanksgiving to you all from the bluegrass state. Yesterday was a beautiful clear day and I had a little free time in the afternoon so I hauled out my old 60 mm Mayflower on a whim. It was in storage until a month ago and I hadn't looked through it in about 8 years. I have just recently cleaned it up and remounted it. I couldn't believe how amazing the sun was with a 1 1/4 inch Lunt wedge and Baader continuum filter. I wound up taking out another 60mm that will accomadate my h- alpha filter and spent a good part of the afternoon outside enjoying the beautiful fall weather and the sun. So much so that the little Mayflower came out again last night for a hour enjoying the moon. It's amazing how good the views were with a modern 1.25 inch prism (Japanese of course) and some good ortho eyepieces. It seemed quite appropriate to celebrate thanksgiving eve with the old Mayflower

A warm, heartfelt "Thank You!" to everyone here. You (We?) are indeed a very special bunch.

Also, Thank You to all of our service members, first responders, and hospital staff that are sacrificing their holiday to take care of "us".

Take good care,

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone two days late. My family and I spent Turkey Day in the High Sierras at Twane Harte and are totally stuffed full of bird. Thankful for a great forum and lets have another great year.
