This has happened a few times. My scope gets it power from a 13.8 regulated power supply. A few times, when I turn on the scope, the power light comes on but the handset does not. Then I will turn off the power and replug the handset and everything works fine. Any ideas what would cause this? Thanks. I do not believe its the handset because when it is like this, I can't connect to Nexremote either.

Could one of the pins in the handset not be seating correctly?

Some revs of the firmware have this very problem. If your HC has an older version, update it.

Its a Celestron 11 inch SCT. The HC firmware is 4.21.
