Hi all,

We had excellent seeing here last night. Here's one from early in the session when Io was just about to enter occultation behind Jupiter.

There are numerous images from the session (and more as I process data) on my site at Exosky.net.

Regards,

Wayne

Once again, a superb image!
Hope you'll get more of that good seeing. We had some of it a few days ago but it's now back to normal...

Sincerely,

Alain

Wow, you east coast imagers sure are getting the great seeing. You all deserve it after putting up with the weather a couple of weeks ago! Beautiful!

That's really nice, Wayne. We had some great seeing to help get over the turkey-induced coma. I've got 128GB (really - I was running 5 minutes per color 3/4 of the time between 11:30 and 2:30!), and no idea when I'll get it all crunched. I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of yours.

Wayne, awesome! Excellent color and detail. Viewing Jupiter through the eyepiece in 5/5 seeing was honestly not much different from 4/5 on 11/21. How did it look from your C14? Thanks for posting

Steve

Thanks, all!

Here's one taken a bit later, as the GRS was setting.

Oh my gosh I love it Wayne! Is the dark area at the center of Io indicative of surface detail or is it just a by-product of image sharpening?

Another superb capture Wayne! It's challenging to keep track of all the activity going on this apparition; you've got some great detail on Io, the GRS/Oval BA/black spot separation, and NEB on this image

Clear Skies,
Brian :waytogo:

Thanks Andreas, Pete, and Brian. That appears to me to be a bit of albedo showing on Io, Pete.

Wayne

Oh cool I get so confused about how to tell the difference between albedo features and artifacts. I really thought I had captured albedo features on Callisto in the Oct 17 shot shown below but the consensus of opinion is that I didn't. It's gotten to the point where the only Jovian moon I feel confident about is Ganymede.

Thanks very much all!

Here's one last one taken after Io slipped behind Jupiter, but in some of the best seeing of the session.
