December weather is usually uncooperative, but with Jupiter's opposition occurring on Dec. 3, a season of frequent Jovian satellite shadow transits begins. On pages of 242-243 of the 2012 RASC Handbook, the following mostly early morning Jovian shadow transits are listed. (Great Red Spot transit times are from the online Sky & Telescope Jovian transit time calculator.) Local times are for my OP in the MST time zone.

11-26 6:33-9:17 UT II ShI-E, TrI-E
Great Red Spot transit at 10:40 UT.
11-25 11:33pm to 11-26 2:17 MST (Sun evening - Monday morning)

11-29 8:54-11:10 UT I ShI-E, TrI-E
Great Red Spot transit at 8:09 UT.
11-29 1:54am-4:10 MST (Thurs morning)

12-3 9:09-11:34 UT II ShI-E, TrI-E
Great Red Spot transit at 11:25 UT.
12-3 2:09am-4:34 MST (Sun evening -Mon morning)

After opposition on 12-3, the order of events changes from ShI first, TrI second to
TrI first, ShI second.

12-8 5:09-7:28 UT I TrI-E, ShI-E
12-7 10:09pm to 12-8 2:28 MST (Fri evening - Sat morning)

12-13 5:39-8:45 UT III TriI-E, ShI-E

Maximum of the Geminid meteor shower is at 12-13 23:30 UT. Jupiter will be in Taurus, about 45 degs from the radiant.
