Sharpless 254 (Sh2-254) is the largest nebula on the right side of the image. Sh2-255 is the nebula in the center of the image. Sh2-256 is the smallest nebula in the group of four. Sh2-257 is circular nebula in the center of the group of four. It is also cataloged as IC 2162. Finally, Sh2-258 is the faint nebula to the left of group of four. It is located above a couple stars, still near the center of the image. All of these are located approximately 6,500 light-years away in Orion.

Ha – 18x1800s – 540 minutes – binned 1x1
RGB – 8x300s – 40 minutes each – binned 2x2

660 minutes total exposure – 11 hours

Imaged October 28th, 30th and November 14th, 2012 with a SBIG ST-8300M on a 6” Astro-Tech AT6RC at f/9 1368mm.
