Hello,

Here is my rendition of M42 and surrounding area. AT65EDQ, QHY8, 19x600 sec subs.

Captured with Neb3, stacked in DSS, finished off in PS.

Nice dust and faint details, but you might try blending in some shorter exposures to reduce the over-exposure of the trapezium region and your brighter stars. The high dynamic range of M42 is always a challenge! Nice job though with a OSC CCD.

might try some shorter subs for the core

Thanks guys, I will be shooting this region again. This is only the second time I've ever shot this area, the first was my first ever astrophoto. I have read a bunch online about blending in shorter subs, so next time I am going to give it a shot.
