A few days ago I had a chance to catch the moon above a colorful turning tree in Hanford Ca. I have not had a chance to scan it yet, but it reminded me of a similar time almost two years before when I did a similar observation in Virginia. The latter is the subject of the sketch and story on the blog sight (address below my signature) if you care to look. I honestly find daytime observing to be a real pleasure because of the earth-context that makes each opportunity so unique.

A very fine daytime sketch including terra firma. It is always a pleasure to see the Moon in daylight and even better to get a chance to sketch both.
