Hello:
Can anyone suggest a good tripod for a B&L Criterion 4000 telescope. Hopefully, something that would attach without modifications. Thanks for the reply.

Just adapted this Celestron Nexstar 4/5 wedgepod for a B&L 4K. Requires a hole in the pod's tilt plate for the power cord and an adapter to mate the B&L's bolt pattern to the Celestron pattern. I made the adapter from the bottom casting from a dead Nexstar 8 mount, but a piece of plywood with some threaded inserts for the pod's 3/8th" bolts and holes for the B&L's 1/4" screws would be easy enough to make. The owner is very happy with it.

The only one likely to attach without drilling is the Criterion Golden Pyramid and they are offered at usually very high prices on ebay.

Perhaps a Meade Field Tripod meant for the ETX scopes would do? Almost sure to need an adaptor plate.
