Hi, am trying to mount my Nikon D800 to the back of my 8SE/C8. I have heard the Celestron part is not the best. Is it OK, or are there better alternatives?

I use the Celestron part and have absolutely no issues. I am sure there are better one's but this too works.

Same here. The Celestron mount is secure and I have no issues at all.

Here are some other options:

This one from ADM clamps onto the dovetail rail on the side of your scope:

This one fits into a small Synta/Orion style finder dovetail shoe. This is NOT the shoe that comes on the 8SE for the RDF. So if you haven't already replaced that shoe, you'd have to buy shoe as well:

Finder shoe (#RDPS model): http://www.scopestuff.com/ss_rdpb.htm

Thanks everyone, will go with the Orion. Will post some photos when (I hope) it works!
