Tried searching for reviews but didn't find any.

Can anyone offer comments regarding (+) or (-) compared to
say, GSO's 2.5 or other barlows?

It is just recently introduced. I have the 2 inch but have yet to have a night conducive to a trial run. Some have posted that it is similar to a former Meade 4-element Barlow and should be quite good.

I've got the ES 2X barlow and love it! I'm waiting on a spacer to try it with my DSLR. But for visual I personally think it's fantastic! Used it last night with my ES ED80 to look at Jupiter and along with a Celestron 8-24 zoom was able to see Gannymeade's shadow transit Jupiter.
