May he rest in peace. He is now part of that cosmos that he so humbly popularized.

Very Sad! I've watched 'Sky At Night' regularly since the early sixties when I was small. I believe he used to say he was the only person to have met all three greats of aviation & space travel... Orville Wright (The first airman), Yuri Gagarin (The first spaceman) and Neil Armstrong (The first to walk on the Moon). His knowledge of the lunar landscape was amazing and, he was also a great musician.
