Know what it is? You cannot imagine how many people have ruined lenses and optics when they didn't have one.
I just bought this high carbon steel one to replace my cheap one that broke on me.
Do you know what the name is?

Looks like a high-quality optical spanner wrench to me.

You can find all kinds of them on EbAy, I'd suggest the high carbon steel ones tho, the cheap ones will break the first tigh ring you try to take off..
cheers

Great find Larry. I bought one last year from Fit Tools. The price is much higher but anyway, it has better protection for the lens. It is a very high quality product.

I will use it once or twice in my life time as an amateur, but when you need this tool nothing else will cut.

Here is the link to what I purchased. Steve, the owner is a great guy too.

I cant count how many times a friend of mine ruined things trying to get rings off. He ruined a pair of Zeiss Binos..
They are invaluable for us tinkerers..
plus they are cool looking too....
