Here is what I have found to be the steps you need to take after a reset. Two of them are related to the ECLIPS camera.

Restore Defaults
SETUP > PREFERENCES > RESTORE DEFAULTS

Adjust Red-Dot Finder

Calibrate Azimuth Drive
SETUP > ALIGN > CALIBRATE > CALIBRATE AZIMUTH DRIVE

Calibrate Elevation Drive
SETUP > ALIGN > CALIBRATE > CALIBRATE ELEVATION DRIVE

Dark Calibration (ECLIPS)
>TAKE PICTURE > DARK CALIBRATION

Calibrate Finder Center (ECLIPS)
>SETUP > ALIGN > CALIBRATE > FINDER CENTER

is there a guide on calibrating azimuth drive?
do I need anything extra for azimuth calibration?
Can I do this inside of my house?

The telescope will walk you through each step. Just follow the menu sequence outlined. I would do it outside; when you adjust the red-dot finder, you need to find an object (I use a stop sign 1/4 mile down the road) and center it in the eyepiece and then then finder. The scope pretty much handles everything else on it's own (except there is a point when you put on the ECLIPS cover and take it off) during dark calibration.

I found an object in my house :) now the telescope works better. Does it remember the calibration after its shut off and unplugged?

Have you taken a photo with the camera to confirm it's working? A yellow RCA plug from the LS8 to an analogue TV works to see the images. You'll have to fiddle with the contrast and the exposure time in the menu.

It took the picture, bmp format, I forgot to take the cap off so its black picture. Before the take picture selection wouldn't work, but now it worked. I don't think I will be using eclips but its working :), I will be doing manual alignment, but I know how to fix eclips thanks.

Hi and sorry for the delay. Centering the finder is a simple manual process. It is making sure the red dot finder aligns with the scope and takes three minutes.

Take the scope outside and find an object in an eyepiece. I use a stop sign that is 1/4 mile away. You can use anything. Center the object. Then turn on the red dot finder, and use the alignment screws (there is one horizontal and one vertical) to make sure that same object is in the finder.

Yes, it retains everything - unless you reload the firmware.

Here is the proof it is working now, I took this with the built in ccd camera built in to my telescope, thank you so much, the calibrations did the trick, at the end you have to do dark calibration, cover the finder before, I used Photoshop to make it better and I cropped it
