Catching up with my sketches over the Xmas period. Here is one of Io crossing Jupiter. The bands were slightly sharper than in my 3rd Dec viewing; more mottled in the central sections and had a hint of dark brown for the SEB. Frustrating not to be able to pick out Io itself!

Chris,
Nice transit sketch of Io/Jupiter. I wish I could get a half decent night to do some observing (been almost a month).

Chris.

Io is really distinct from the surface. Very nice.

hi Chris,
nice sketch.
Io in front of a darker band help to see him directly,
but the scope must have a good contrast & good seeing.
Near to the Planet edge the contrast for that observing will be better.

Bye
Christian
