I've always wanted to photograph NGC 2170 (a beautiful complex of reflection, emission, and dark nebulae), but I never realized it was so close to Barnard's Loop (the red hydrogen ring around Orion). All images I have ever seen of 2170 are very close-up shots. So.... I created this 2 panel mosaic that features both. I fancy the red "profile" of Barnard himself examining the comparatively diminutive NGC 2170 ;)

Great composition and processing. I've shot it before but never realized that it was so close to the Loop.

Thanks. Yes, I was very surprised that I could not find a single image online that showed NGC 2170 with the Loop (except maybe some extreme wide shots, in which case you can't really see 2170). It almost touches!

Thanks a bunch folks! This one was a lot fun to process. I find I really enjoy images where I can combine a lot of HA with the "natural light" of RGB.
