First image of 2013, and the first image in quite a while! I haven't completed an object in one night in quite a while but due to the lack of any clear skies, and not knowing when the next one might come along, I decided to just grab 1 hour of each channel, HA, RGB and use HA for the Luminance.

Thanks for looking!

Seems to have worked well: using Ha for luminance.

Thanks for the comments! I also started my first HARGB M42 project. Now I only need about 3 more clear nights before the end of March to finish it!

A really nice result for only 4 hrs! I've been experimenting some with a "false luminance" by combining all the RGB data together into a LUM, applying the false LUM to the color image, and then applying the Ha as another LUM. I think this helps control the background a bit; you might give that a try. Not that your image needs it! But it's fun to experiment.

Thanks Joel! Actually I do the same thing sometimes with my images. I've also blended my Red and HA together as a false Luminance at times. I figure the more you put together the cleaner the image.

That is a really nice result. Amazing considering the limited amount of time you have in it!!!!
