The Nook HD desperately needs more apps, especially., astronomy apps. All I have is Distant Suns Max, which is woefullly out-of-date.

I can change this by rooting the tablet and installing a version of Android that will allow me to obtain Google Play. But I really don't want to do this if I have more options.

That's how I feel about the Kindle. It's a great tablet and does everything I need... except have good astronomy apps.

I/we were given a B/N Tablet. After 2 days I was booting to a 32gig card running Jelly Bean. It seemed to have a few quirks so I switched to Gingerbread and I am having no problems. I can reboot to B/N with the touch of a finger or use the B/N app.

An option for you.

Bill
