Thanks, Chris! Very kind of you! :)

No, it was all done by hand - white paper and pencil. But afterwards I did a long elaboration process on the pc, trying to make it look as realistically as possible (see my website for more info).

Cheers,

Peter

Peter,

You've certainly done justice to this beauiful object. How long did the pencil sketch take to complete?

@Michel: also many thanks to you for your kind words... I overlooked your lat message...

@Michael: the pencil drawing took about an hour. The elaboration afterwards... the whole morning. :D

Peter,

When I saw this sketch in the monthly contest I knew you had a great chance to come out on top and you did - wonderful and well deserved.

Frank :)

Excellent job, Pete. You're brave getting the subtle colour hues - far braver than me - but you've nailed it. If someone wants to know what it's like to look through an 18" dob at a showpiece nebula, you've shown them exactly. Mission accomplished :waytogo:

Hahahaaa! Sorry, already married. :woohoo: But we can always be friends, hehehe... :)

And please don't say you haven't got the talent. Everyone can draw, it's just a question of practicing. There's nobody who'll tell you your drawings are no good because what you draw represents YOUR impression of what YOU saw. So get that sketchpad out and amaze us! :jump:

Ciao!

Beautiful sketch Peter, you recorded a remarkable amount of detail .

How long did it take you to make the sketch?

It took me more than an hour to make the sketch plus several hours behind the pc to work it all out. Also many thanks to you, Eric!

Peter
