Is www.scopecity.com closed? I ordered and paid for gear last year. Scopecity does not answer my emails. Their 1-800 number is disconnected. I have called their stores in SFO (disconnected) and LAX (voice-mail box are full). I have tried several times over the past week.

There is another thread about this... Yes, it appears that they are gone.

Start a claim now.

They never responded to my emails or calls. The paypal claim process recovered all of my funds.

I ordered from them last July,2012 and even talked to them about my order in Sept., and again the last of Oct., guess i should have asked for a refund then. Was told my order would be sent as soon as the item came in to their store. Now i guess i have lost my money since paypal has a 45 day time limit. Lesson learned.

Give it a try... I know that Paypal will address situations that have gone beyond the time limit if they feel it is warranted.

I have started a claim with PayPal.

I am surprised their web site is still working.

Thanks to all for confirming my suspicions that ScopeCity has closed. Too bad. Another vendor down the tube. :(

It is too bad, but why are they still taking people's money?

Interesting. I note that the copyright notice at the bottom of the website has even been updated to 2013. I suppose, like starting a website, it takes a litte while for the website developer/maintainer to get the message. The message will likely be clearer when he/she doesn't get paid.

Tks jon,, I did contact paypal and they are going to try and get my money back. The agent i talked to said that scope city would probably be clasified as a habitual offender. To bad this happened.

If they're not closed, there's been enough threads on them here that they should take the time to make a statement as to their status...unless they're completely closed of course, but then, the old owners should have at least notified its major suppliers/customers.

That vendor's ISP is "hostmysite" which is a commercial service provider who charges $50/month for an ecommerce site. So someone is either still paying the ISP or already prepaid, that site should've been removed :).
