Hi.

Yesterday clouds came in much faster than forecasted and I had no time to sketch. Today was supposed to be a very beautiful clear day all day long and night. I only have a whole from 2pm to 4pm before getting overcast again. Stability was terrible but very variable from my own estimation from 1.5 to 4 on 5. At 1.5, it was bared impossible to see any surface details but the proms were still nice. And sometimes stability was great enough to zoom at 300X. Mainly because of clouds, low sun and turbulence, it was impossible to sketch a full disk today. I caught a flare in the white area on the 2nd sketch.

Andre.

Andre,

The proms in the first sketch look like fountains.
Very fine detailed work.

Frank :)

Thanks Frank. Yeah, they looks like fountains. As for me, the last sketch looks like a spider attacking another insect ! You can see both spider's eyes.

So my spider is ready to eat our friend Jean, but who will win the fight ahahahahahaha. That's the image I see.

Good one, my friend. Actually this is a rhino beetle (Oryctes nasicornis) the first insect of my collection when I was a kid.

Great sketch, André.

The same day (earlier 10:19 and 12:55 UT) I sketched the same prop than your first one, but with a much lower number of details! Anyway I can compare, this prop is still active today jan 12th, more than 48hoo later.
Thank you once again André for those incredible sketches.
I will post the today sun just now.
