Shot while I was watching TV. Doing a time lapse with 4 second exposures hoping to catch one. Sometime around 9PM Arizona time.

It was on the top side of a wide FOV, cropped image. I guess I forgot to check the "flip horizontal" check box in the ASI120MM settings. Here is the full FOV flipped. The ring is a zero profile DSLR t-adapter I was using to block my neighbors porch light.

David, awesome capture! Imaging a fireball randomly is so rare. For a 4sec shot, the stars are very bright with a noise-free background. Good luck with your new camera. Congradulations and thanks for posting it

Thanks Steve, I caught it as one frame in a time lapse I was working on. This video is 4,275, 4 second exposures, at 40FPS.

what is the gain setting?subtract dark?

Hi Sam,

I didn't do any dark subtraction. They were 4 second exposures at about 70 gain and 50 gamma. It was about 15 degrees F out.

David, the youtube video is awesome! It's amazing how many meteors you captured that night. Did you have the ASI120MM attached with your 10" scope or a different one? Thanks for the video link!

I think I only caught that one meteor that night. The rest of them were planes flying by. they look small because the fov is so wide. The video was 4 second exposures at 40FPS, so the planes really zip across the sky :)
