Hi.

You never saw a guy running so fast to be ready to sketch the sun. I was outside looking through my 3" solar scope looking at the sun between two clouds. It's better than nothing. The weather was supposed to be clear to day but you know how it is.. Anyway, it was very late, the sun low on the horizon and I was analyzing how long I would still have it before going down behind the house's roof tops. And an unexpected clear sky just about the roof tops appeared. So I ran inside the house to pick up my drawing pad, open very very quickly the dome and was ready to draw this full disk within 5 minutes. So I'm extremely pleased of this one because it's really a big gift of the day...

Boy, I really need to pull out the Mylar filter. That string of spots in the center of the disk is awesome! Beautiful sketch, Andre.

Er... You drew all that... in only five minutes??? You're the best, André. :)

EDIT: Ah... I think I misunderstood. So you were ready to draw in 5min but I suppose the actual drawing took a bit longer than that?

Peter.

It's a chance you have edited you message as your first part was wrong but the second okay. I was ready within 5 minutes but took around 20 minutes to draw the whole disk. It's much longer drawing the full disk than a closeup.

Thank you guys. Very appreciated.

My son told me if I submit too much sketches, you will all feel bored to look at them... Is it true ? As for me, I'm never bored to look at all the sketches submitted here.

Tell your son we are all a bunch of obsessed amateurs who are still trying to figure how you produce such incredible illustrations. I'll put forward the vote that you continue posting without hesitation.
