Many firms will refuse un-authorized returns.
It is best to pay for tracking,even require signatures when sending expensive items to anyone,so you know when and who got it.
Busy vendors may not call you to acknowledge a return or even email .Those who really care about customer service might.
If it has been more than a few days since the item should have arrived then I would call the vendor and ask about the status.
