There is a nice range of activity on the sun today. While capturing the obvious proms I also noticed some very faint but interesting proms almost lost in the background so grabbed them as well. Not the best quality images since the seeing was a bit off, but a nice morning in the sun.

Close up. This is with a 3.5X barlow. Although the seeing didn't really allow this level of magnification, it was the first time I have been able to remove the abundant newtons rings at this magnification, so I am quite happy (and waiting for some better seeing to see how far I can push the scope...)

David.

Wow, some very very nice shots here. The faint prom and the jet are spectacular as well as the closeup. Thanks.

Andre.

I watched that big broad prom at the bottom of your first photo and the narrow jet for some time about midday CST. Very cool display today! Was showing the sun to some people who had never observed it and they wondered if it was always that impressive. I said I wish . . .
