It's been bad weather for over a week now so I've got nothing better to do than to rework old drawings with the new Photoshopping skills I acquired. Well, I hope you like my impression of Thor's Helmet. From my notes I recall that it was a very cold night and that the object was still fairly low above the horizon. So perhaps if I had waited a couple of hours I would've seen more.

Cheers,

Peter

Peter,

This is a beautiful sketch of a great target. I have observed NGC 2359 on several occasions but I have not yet sketched it.

Frank :)

Peter.

It's not a target for my red zone backyard. But once I'll get in a darker site, I'll check it for sure.

Andre.

Beautiful sketch. The halo of bright stars isn't always centered around the star. Mostly at the edge of the sketch. Intentionally?

Yes, Jef, intentionally, to add a little f4,45 coma effect...

Ciao!

Terrific sketch of 2359 Peter! I like how you captured the varying intensities of the nebula while blending them into the fine details - excellent technique and quite realistic.

Your skills as a visual observer should be even greater from our polluted sky. Very very nice rendition of a so fascinating nebula.

Lovely sight, lovely sketch. In my light polluted skies? Not a chance of even seeing it. I envy you.
