Hi all,

Well I finally got back to some imaging of luna on the 22nd, since we have it high in the sky now for 1st quarter. So I packed up all my gear and drove to my favorite spot overlooking the Pacific. Trouble was I forgot my laser collimator! Seeing was not as good as I had hoped for but there were many dome areas to be seen along the terminator.

Here is an image of a classic dome Kies Pi:

more dome areas to come!

cheers

Mike

This night was the first night I have observed the Lansberg domes, a very interesting grouping!

Nice work, Mike!

Your pictures compensate for the fact that I have not been able to go out to take advantage of the high Moon, recently, because it is so cold here. Tonight, snow decided to join the sub-freezing temperatures.

That's exquisite Mike. One of the best images to come through here. There are so many secondary features imaged do well and even seemingly anonymous but each its own due attention to definition . The glooded crater in the upper left hand corner is so refined and well shown. Truly excellent work.

Wow! Just Wow! What incredible detail  :waytogo:. That's a fascinating area of lava filled craters.

For reference, here is a snapshot of the general area. In comparison, you can really appreciate the level of detail Mike captured. Kies is in the center.

Thanks guys! Rob thanks for posting the wider field shot to give an idea of the Kies area. Imaging with the 4X's powermate barlow gives some darned big image scale 0.19"/pixel.

thanks

Mike
