What is the weight of the Meade 30mm UWA, (Series 5000), eyepiece with the shroud off? Anybody have one like this they have weighed on a scale?

Cheers,

Thanks for that link Pollux556, but I have seen that thread many, many times. There is no reference to the 30mm UWA de-cloaked however. ;)

Mark the shroud weighed 8oz. on a cheap kitchen scale.
The stated weight of the new eyepiece is 47oz.
So it looks like a 39oz. eyepiece de-cloaked.
My scale only goes up to 1000 grams.
There might have been an oz of grease in there as well!

Wow! Even with the eyecup off, it's still heavier than the 21 Ethos (36oz).
