"Notes: This is a new SynScan EQ official firmware release.

A new feature of Polar Alignment is added and improved accuracy under Alignment sub-menu of the hand control in the firmware.
User may use this feature to do the polar alignment without aligning Polaris in the polarscope for an EQ mount.

This new firmware also works with AZ goto and DOB SynScan goto mount.

We strongly recommend users to update this new released firmware to the hand control for their AZ-EQ6 GT mount. "

From Orion's web page. Here's the link. Has any one tried it?

Yes...quite a few people. Synta began releasing it on the SkyWatcher page in beta many months ago, with the final version being released a while back. Orion is usually a little behind the powercurve on SynScan updates. I tested one of the last betas in September and was pretty pleased with the results.

Is there a web site for that? Orion does not mention how to use this feature. They don't have it in the online manuals or tech tips. William

I went to the accessories page and opened SynScan and at the bottom is the product support link. There you will find instructions and the download link.
